Poker Revenue from Legalized Online Gambling

From cardplayer.com:
“A Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) study revealed that the United States has the potential to collect at least $8.7 billion and up to $17.6 billion in the next 10 years if it would tax and regulate online gambling, including poker. And those figures don’t include potential sports wagers.”
That stat doesn’t even include most of [...]

Poker Girls

I like how a lot of poker advertising, particularly online, has so much in common with the ads in muscle car magazines. You know what I’m talking about: the girls in bikinis laying across the top of a Corvette hood, sweating and glistening, with some huge headline about gearshafts and transmissions in huge embossed font [...]

New Gus Hansen Blog

Thanks to Jereme for pointing out Gus Hansen’s new poker blog for CardPlayer. His first post is somewhat of a teaser, but we’ll see if he actually starts talking about poker stuff on there. You never know.

Only In a Casino

It can be interesting sometimes to go watch pros play at Full Tilt or wherever. I used to keep a table open with, say, Gus Hansen or John Juanda or Eric Seidel while I was playing my own tables, just to have something to watch while I waited between hands. I guess you could think [...]

Another poker player profile on Phil ‘The Unabomber’ Laak, with thoughts on playing the numbers and exploiting a tight image.
PHIL LAAK

I like Laak. A good natured player with a real love for the game and a willingness to have fun.

Where do you play?

Massive thanks again to Jereme for taking up the slack in my absence.
Thinking about some new places to play online, to see how they match up with Full Tilt’s seemingly grandiose pots. Anybody play at some of the smaller, lesser known sites and enjoy? Thoughts on where to buy in next would be awesome.
Where do [...]
