Absolute Poker Nailed
Any speculation on whether or not there’s some amount of rigging and/or cheating going on in online gambling venues was wholly confirmed by the recent fines applied from the KGC, a Canadian gaming commission, filed against online casino Absolute Poker.
Absolute poker will have to pay $500,000 in fines for security breaches in their software back in August of 2007, which they attempt to cover up rather than expose.
from cardplayer.com:
The KGC released several startling details about the cheating scandal and undressed Absolute Poker for not reporting that cheating had occurred on the site to the KGC as soon as Absolute Poker knew cheating had occurred. The KGC also discovered that Absolute Poker tried to cover up the cheating scandal by deleting certain gaming logs and records and that the site failed to report the security breach within 24 hours of its discovery.
Well, well, then.
Reportedly, the seven players who cracked the system were able to play while seeing the other players’ cards.
Who knows: a leak in the dam?
