Bad Beat 2nd Runner Up
Here’s a slightly different variation on the bad beat story: the author is the one PUTTING the bad beat on. In this particular instance, the recipient of the two beats in the story is none other than myself.
So from the mouth of Durden (who owns rights to the hand 3-5 off at our local game) here is his story:
We had been playing for like two hours and I had already been sucking out on people. (thats what I do) Then these to hands happen less then five minutes apart.
Im in seventh position I look down and see my favorite hand 3/5 the dirty dirty as we call it. I raise
three times the blind the player to my right re raised, the player on the big blind flat calls then im priced in and i call the flop 10/5/3 big blind checks I raise the player on my right goes all in the blind folds I call . Player on my right flips up AA and the turn and river are blank. All i hear cant believe you are raising with crap (you know the same old story I hear that alot) Thats just the beginning of the story. Two hands later Im in ninth position player on my right is on the button, had like two limper’s in the pot and I look down to see AA I raise the player that I just crushed with the 3/5 (who just bought back in) re raises me everyone folds, then I move all in. He calls and before he flips up his card he says the wrong thing (I think I have you this time) He flips up AA everyone goes split pot. The flop three diamonds I have the Ace of diamonds the turn one more diamonds and its a wrap. The player to my right goes crazy I hate this fing game Im done Im going home it was one of the best bad beats I have put on someone. besides when I had QQ to someones AA and I hit the case Q on the river but thats a different. story

I do this kind of stuff occassionally too. It’s always fun to bust some one with garbage.
But the player with pocket AA should learn to isolate a little better. 3 players is not a good situation against pockets. Some one is bound to catch something and crack the AA.

Of course my above statement doesn’t apply for low stakes.
People will call with anything. That is why I hate playing low stakes.
