Cash Game Crud Run

by Blake on June 10th, 2008

Played a live cash game for the first time in a while last night. Sat around with my buy in and went up early and then proceeded to sit and catch J 5 and 10 3 all night for about 4 hours with almost no variation, crap I couldn’t play even for limping unless I just stole, which I had to do a couple times to keep my stack even.

At another point flopped top pair open ended straight draw with KQ and ended up raising all in against a shorter stack to find they had KK (they almost folded to my bet), so then was stuck around 2/3rds my buy in and back to the flood of garbage. It wasn’t a great return to poker, though I think I’m going to try and stick it in again tonight and see what happens.

Nothing worse than playing a whole night and not even seeing suited connectors and spaced connecting cards, and literally all just big card little card, that is hardly even worth playing in the blind.

Oh well.

Running dead is always a kick in the flesh bag.

Depending on your table image, which I’m guessing looks pretty tight, I would play any two suited cards from the button and raise with it.

    Raise big.

Nothing beats cracking KK or AA with a K high flush on the riv.

The great thing about playing suited garbage cards is that you usually have a pretty good read of what your opponent has.

Most times people will hit top pair or two pair (etc) and slow play the crap out of them which gives you enough time to bet big on the turn and hit your draw on the river maximizing your value.

Welcome back, we missed your money. :)
