More notes on WSOP 2007, tonight’s episode

by Blake on October 3rd, 2007

Hevad Khan seems annoying, but when he’s not freaking out, he seems like an okay player. It’s probably just an act to get more action, from people wanting to come after him for being such a goober.

I’ve had a lot of fun utilizing this kind of tactic when playing both live and online. There’s a lot to be cultivated by the image you set up. At home games, people have come to know me as a fairly tight player, though this image mainly has come from the ever-cold run of cards I’ve had in the past 4 months. It’s nice to be able to exploit a tight image by putting an extra raise in when they’re sure you wouldn’t raise without it.

More fun is the acting like a wild man when you’re not approach, which takes a table full of strangers usually. One thing I like to do when playing online is to press the F1 F2 F3 F4 buttons one after another very quickly. These button toggle between the ‘emotions’ of your screen icon. I play with a little doggie icon, so when I go through the buttons it makes it look like he has fleas. People hate this. Then you start talking about Doyle Brunson and saying things that make you look like a dork, if not a chump, and talk a little mess, and I swear if people won’t chase after you with bottom pair. It’s amazing.

I haven’t experimented with this so much live, but I’ve watched people act drunk and/or rowdy when they’re actually showing down some big hands and end up taking several other players’ money.

So maybe next time you’re at the casino put on your BLUFF MAGAZINE t-shirt, you’re I’M ALL IN hat with the flaming pocket aces embroidered on the bill, some fancy sunglasses, and head down acting like you just got out of frat house reunion. They’ll go bonkers.

I feel the same way when Hevad Khan picks his chair up and screams and goes crazy I wish someone would punch him in the mouth. Now that would be funny. I all so believe he wants the t.v. time, and it works because every time he does that he is on t.v. And on the topic of acting like a donk at the table so people will give you there chips it works (Owlll in) or how ever you spell redneck all in.
