Poker Fiction in Hobart Magazine
For those of you looking for a decent read involving Texas Hold em (yeah, stories about the game are generally awful and about as dull as watching paint dry), there is a pretty killer story by Barry Graham in the current issue of Hobart Magazine about a guy moored in a casino playing hold em, judging a bikini contest, and some other weird edges. Definitely worth a read.
The rest of the issue is also mostly games and sports related as the new issue of the magazine is ‘Games’ themed, and including writing about video games, cards, and other, by a gamut of great literary writers.
Check it out and buy an issue. And while you’re at it, the fine Hobart folks have included a ‘Bonus Features’ section to the magazine available to be read free online here.
All in all excellence for your reading pleasure when you’re not busy at the tables, or on a break.
