Return to Poker
Played online $1/$2 last night for about an hour. Tripled up in that hour mostly from two main hands (flopped a set of eights against a guy who’d hit his K with AK, and flopped a straight against a guy limping with AA) and immediately signed off before the machine had a chance to wreck me.
It felt good to be back.
It’s particularly nice to be able to play online poker while laying in bed, made possible thanks to my new Macbook Pro. A whole different world, really, compared to sitting at a desk.
Any having trouble with their online game, this I’d recommend: get a laptop immediately. I think you’ll see immediate improvement in quality of life.
Okay.

I took some horrible beats last night playing online. One note of caution for those seeking a laptop for play:
Don’t use a laptop if you get angry, I mean really angry when you take a horrible beat.
Fortunately I have several laptops.
Welcome back Blake.

I’d LOVE to play from my laptop but my internet connection always stalls out and then I end up missing a couple hands. Do you guys have this problem? I haven’t played in a while because of this problem (I hate having to hard-wire the laptop). I play on PokerStars usually.

yeah wireless can be tricky. i usually only do it when i know i am on a very strong signal and not moving. even then you still get the blips. i guess it’s a calculated risk.

I don’t have any issues wtih online play. You need to make sure your Wireless Access Point and your wireless network card (the one on the laptop) are at G level and that your Wireless Access Point is mounted at the highest point possible.
