I think I’d be much more interested in watching poker if people still looked like this.
I haven’t been able to get into the 2008 WSOP so far, it just hasn’t been stirring me. Too many all in pots and overhyped action. Granted, this is an all-in pot, but the 1981 style to me makes it much more fun.
Stu Ungar indeed looks like a walking skeleton, or a member of the Rolling Stones, the stories about him are clearly true. Funny to hear the amount discussed for the winner too..
Someone should go back into the footage of all the old WSOP broadcasts, insert updated card holding viewers for the screen, and release them all in a WSOP box set, I’d buy it.
