Things I’ve Hurt as a Result of Online Poker
1. My hand, many times, several of which my whole arm went numb for 20-30 minutes, and I felt afraid I’d really messed something up.
2. The arm on my rolling desk chair (this took many months of beating it, but it’s totally loose now and flapping like a wing).
3. My old computer monitor: one night I actually picked this up and slammed it so hard back down on the desk that from there on it would flicker in certain pixels from time to time.
4. My online bankroll. Three separate times I’ve run my roll up over $2500 in a few weeks just playing $1/$2. All three times I took such strings of bad beats in a row in one afternoon with several rebuys that I’d dropped about a grand of it, and each time I proceeded to intentionally blast the rest of it off in a blind rage as if it were raining money out of several monitors across America.
5. The closet door at my parents’ house. I threw myself into the folding closet door one day during one of the instances in list item 4. It still doesn’t quite close fully. I told my mom I fainted.
6. The glass lampshade of my current desk lamp: is cracked in two places from getting knocked off the desk as a result of me pounding my fists so hard. I don’t know how it’s still around. I’ve also ruined several ceramic creatures in the process, though those are long gone now.
7. My previous cell phone: Thrown against the wall when someone called me while I was in a huge hand and after getting sucked out it was still ringing and I threw it against the wall above my bed. It still worked for a while but you couldn’t hear so well and one of the buttons stuck.
I’m sure there are more things I’m forgetting, but you get the idea.
