WPT new episode
I enjoyed watching Nenad Medic play on the new episode of WPT. Supposedly a big cash game killer, he employed a different tactic than the usual slash and burn style of those big guys in tournament games: much more careful and not trying to run everyone over, but making his moves at smart spots and acting against his opponent, letting them crush themselves.
I love watching players like Hansen and Negreanu who it becomes difficult to put on a hand, but for me watching players like Medic go is more helpful in fine-tuning in my own game, because I’m just not wild enough to play in their mode all the time, or even a significant part of the time.
Though it’s nice to make a strange call now and then and get paid by making a play you wouldn’t normally make. Those are perhaps more satisfying than playing “correctly.” I need a backer. If I weren’t playing with my own money I think I’d be a lot more dangerous, more willing to trust my gut.
I hate distrusting my gut. I can’t count the number of times I’ve felt the right moment to make a move and then talked myself out of it, only to realize it would have won me the pot. It’s a strange line to walk.

Actually, you tend to be more careful when some one is funding your poker endeavors.
It’s hard to explain to some one that you lost X amount because you wanted to make a reckless call/play.
They are not forgiving usually.
Depending on who is backing you, forgiveness may be a commodity you cannot afford to be without.
